Function guide
The same marketplace, in real time — route a live inbound call to the winning buyer and settle pay-per-call.
Calls is the call transport — the synchronous sibling of Leads. A live inbound call is a lead that can’t wait: it runs the same auction (Marketplace) and settles on the same ledger (Ledger), but the transport is a phone call instead of a data post, and delivery is a live transfer instead of an HTTP POST.
| Leads | Calls |
|---|---|
| Post a JSON lead | A live inbound call |
| Ping = reserve, Post = deliver | Ping = reserve while the caller holds, then connect the transfer |
| Deliver via HTTP POST | Deliver via warm transfer to the winning buyer |
| Settle on delivery (CPL) | Settle on connected + qualified duration (pay-per-call), or CPA |
| Mode | How it works |
|---|---|
| Transfer | The publisher pings your campaign with the caller, then transfers the live call to the buyer the auction picked. |
| Inbound | The caller dials a Calls tracking number you provision; the auction runs on connect and bridges the winner. |
Per campaign you set the call policy in Calls → Campaigns → Call policy: transfer vs inbound, the billable duration a bridged call must clear before it bills, the buyer accept gate (press-1 / whisper / straight transfer), optional answering-machine detection, max concurrency, and whether to certify each call.
Turn on Certify (LeadProof) for a campaign and each connected call seals a Tier-1 call certificate through Certify — the caller’s ANI (hashed), DNIS, the STIR/SHAKEN attestation, recording, and duration — linked to the call by call_id. A publisher that supplies its own cert_id on the ping is linked instead.
Because Calls reuses the auction, ledger, returns, and dispositions already built for leads, the marketplace economics (auction, taper/flat fees, three-party settle, returns) carry over unchanged — only the transport differs.
Calls use the same marketplace modes as leads. Private (margin) = your own book. OpenExchange = the cross-tenant open board: offer a call source to a Category or run a public call campaign and it competes across accounts, clearing pay-per-call at the market price (seller nets cleared − platform fee). Identity-open — you see your own calls and the named counterparty in Marketplace → Auctions. See the Marketplace guide for Private vs OpenExchange and the buyer/seller experience.
On the roadmap: call-specific integrity upgrades — blind-transfer verification (proving the supplier’s leg released on transfer) and a tone-based liveness validator.
Next: Marketplace (how the auction picks the winner), Ledger (how pay-per-call settles), and Call setup recipes.
